What Iron Mind processes

To provide adult-content filtering, Iron Mind processes page addresses, search queries, limited page text on supported search, video, and social surfaces, and visible image addresses. Its bundled image-classification model may request an image from the website or image host so it can classify that image locally inside Chrome.

What Iron Mind stores

Chrome local extension storage holds protection preferences, install and streak timestamps, cooldown and lockdown state, and a salted derived PIN hash. The raw PIN is not stored. Iron Mind does not store browsing history or classified images.

Retention and deletion

Local preferences and protection state remain in Chrome until reset or until the extension is removed. Temporary classification results are held only in extension memory and disappear when the relevant extension context closes or restarts. Removing Iron Mind clears its local extension storage through Chrome’s normal uninstall process.

Data sharing

Iron Mind does not transmit browsing activity, search terms, images, or settings to the developer or to a cloud AI provider. Normal browser requests to the websites and image hosts you visit still occur under those sites’ own privacy practices.

How browsing information is used

Iron Mind uses browsing-related information only to provide its single purpose: helping users avoid explicit web content. It does not use or transfer this information for advertising, credit decisions, personalized marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the filtering features described to the user.

Security and packaged code

Iron Mind uses Chrome’s extension storage and a salted PBKDF2-derived PIN hash. Filtering rules, the AI runtime, and the AI model are packaged with the extension. No remote executable code or blocklist is downloaded at runtime.

Your controls

You can change image and media settings in the Iron Mind popup. You can remove Iron Mind at any time through Chrome’s extension controls, which clears its local extension data under Chrome’s normal behaviour.
